Walkers will meet at the Hall, 6 miles NW of York, at 10.30 am. The walk will be a 3-mile stroll through parkland around the Hall (no entry fee), along the bank of the river Ouse, then across the river by ferry for lunch in the ‘Alice Hawthorn Inn’ in Nun Monkton, site of England's tallest maypole.
(For those who wish to have a longer walk, there is also a 2-mile option to the Inn.)
The return journey is a 2 mile walk via a stretch of river bank which is habitat of the beautiful rare Tansy Beetle.
The weather ‘will’ be fine and all participants ‘will’ be under strict instructions to enjoy themselves!!
